Need a skilled proofreader to polish your writing?

Then you’ve come to the right place…

Whatever you’re writing – whether it’s copy for your website or blog, documents or marketing materials for your business, your latest bestseller, your university paper or your dream job application – I’m here to help you get it just right!

Hello! I’m Sarah, an editor and proofreader based in Bristol, UK.

I love working with words – I’ve been a content and editorial professional since 2006 and have acquired a wide range of professional experience from a diverse spectrum spanning online content, business management and administration, marketing strategy, live music, the arts, and the wonders of the natural sciences.

Throughout my career, I’ve been lucky to work with all sorts of people from a variety of backgrounds and industries – my clients include entrepreneurs and solopreneurs, SMEs and larger businesses, not-for-profits, authors, bloggers, students, and more.

I’m also an avid live music fan with over a decade of experience in content and editorial management for a UK-wide live entertainment website specialising in gigs and ticketing. This has given me an excellent insight into what fans, bookers and agents are looking for from band and venue websites.

I’m particularly interested in helping musicians and grassroots venues get their websites and marketing materials up to scratch, looking fantastic and doing the business for them! So, if you’re a venue or a musician needing some help with your words, I’d love to hear from you.

Let’s get to work on making your words clear, consistent, accurate and readable for your audience!

I can help you with:

your website, blog and social media posts

your online and printed marketing materials

your company literature and internal documents

your book (fiction or non-fiction)

your essay, dissertation or thesis

your CV and cover letter

You’ve arrived here today because you’re invested in your writing and want to present yourself – or your business – as professional, credible and trustworthy to the people reading your carefully chosen words.

As you know, it’s important not to underestimate how distracting and unprofessional typos or other spelling, grammar and punctuation errors can be for your readers.

But… anyone can make a mistake! And even the best writers use editors and proofreaders before they publish their work for the world to read.

When you hire a qualified proofreader to review your document, your writing benefits from so much more than just getting stray typos, spelling and grammar slip-ups fixed.

My process involves checking spelling, grammar and punctuation, and I’ll also look at the clarity, consistency and formatting of your document, ensuring that your words are clearly presented and easy to read, helping you to gain not only the trust of your audience but also their confidence in your expertise.

Let’s work together!

One of my favourite things about running my own business is that I get to work with great people from all walks of life – from sole traders and freelancers to small, medium and large businesses.

I also love to help people achieve personal success, so if you’re a writer reaching the point of readiness to publish your manuscript, or maybe you’re applying for your dream job, or perhaps you’re a student on the last leg of your degree and preparing to hand in your dissertation or thesis. Whatever personal achievement you’re aiming for, I’m here to help you reach it.
